Santiago Gimenez, despite only being 23, has discovered quite the taste for success already, and the AC Milan striker is hungry for titles, given the feeling it gives him.

As much as Milan needed to recruit a striker in the January mercato, there were also a few extra factors that needed to be considered. Obviously, the club needed a goalscorer, but having a young player with plenty of potential was also really heavily desired.

Something else of interest to the Rossoneri may have been silverware experience, considering this was a large reason why Alvaro Morata was signed in the summer, and even though he will only be 24 this year, Gimenez certainly brings a bit of that.

So far in his career, he has won several honours in Mexico, before winning three trophies in the Netherlands, and now two with Mexico, with the latest coming last night.

After the latest success, the striker spoke to CBS, and he admitted that the feeling of winning trophies is incomparable.

How are you feeling?

“Amazing, I think it’s the best feeling to be champions. We won the Gold Cup and the Nations League. I think Mexico are competing to be champions again.”

What has changed recently?

“The way we play, we go all in in everything, in every second. I think that has been a huge change.”

The Gimenez x Jimenez tandem

“It was crazy, we didn’t train for it. We are soccer players, we know how to play in every formation. It’s an honour to play alongside him, it was a good result. We understand each other, I was more of a ‘Number 10’, but it still was a very good experience.”
