With four teams relegated from League One each season, it looks set to be a crucial run in for AFC Wimbledon, Gillingham, Morecambe and Fleetwood, with all four clubs within three points of each other at the foot of the table.

There are just four games left to play for the sides, with the exception of Fleetwood, who have five matches remaining.

Ahead of the run in, we thought we’d take a look at each team’s run in, assessing the easier and trickier fixtures for each side, and where they may be able to pick up points as the season comes to a close.

Fleetwood Town – 19th

Starting with the team leading the pack, and the ones who have an extra game over their relegation rivals, let’s take a look at Fleetwood’s remaining fixtures.

It looks a mixed run in in terms of difficulty for the Cod Army. They face eighth placed Oxford United (H) next, which is difficult, but then face two of their fellow relegation rivals back to back in Gillingham (A) and AFC Wimbledon (H).

Following that, things get tougher again with Sheffield Wednesday (H) and Bolton (A) awaiting, however, there are certainly some fixtures there that Fleetwood can target points from – particularly the Gillingham and Wimbledon matches.

Quiz: What town or city were these 20 AFC Wimbledon players born in?

Morecambe FC – 20th

Onto Morecambe now, who will hope prolific forward Cole Stockton can continue to fire them to safety.

In their remaining matches, the Shrimps face Charlton (A), Portsmouth (H), MK Dons (A), and Sunderland (H).

If Morecambe are to stay up, you feel their best chance is from taking points in their next two, with Charlton and Portsmouth both mid-table sides.

MK Dons are looking to secure automatic promotion however, and Sunderland are looking to do the same in the play-off places, so those could be trickier fixtures for the Shrimps.

Gillingham – 21st

It’s Cheltenham (A), Fleetwood (H), Portsmouth (A) and Rotherham (H) in the last four for Gillingham as they look to avoid the drop.

Aside from the Rotherham fixture on the last day, who may well be playing for automatic promotion, this isn’t a bad set of fixtures at all, with two mid-table sides to face, along with one of their relegation rivals.

The next three matches are crucial for the Gills then, who will hope they don’t need any points going into that Rotherham fixture.

AFC Wimbledon – 22nd

Last but not least, onto AFC Wimbledon, who are at a disadvantage to the other three clubs mentioned in that they are trailing them all by three points.

It’s Crewe (A) up next for the Dons, followed by Wycombe Wanderers (H), Fleetwood (A) and Accrington Stanley (H).

This is an excellent run of fixtures for the Dons, in relative terms.

Crewe are rock-bottom of League One and all but relegated, whilst they also face fellow relegation rivals Fleetwood.

Although Wycombe will be a tough match up due to their play-off chase, it may well be that Accrington Stanley too, who are mid-table, do not prove the most difficult opponents.

You can see the Dons picking up a few wins here – and they need them given their three point deficit to the side’s above them.
