Gilberto Sepúlveda has said that Chivas will look to carry their recent improvement in form into Sunday’s Liguilla clash at Pachuca.
The Flock endured a difficult Clausura, seeming set to miss out on the play-offs completely.
However, some positive results and performances in their final few games of the regular Guard1anes 2021 season sees Los Rojiblanocs enter the business end full of confidence.
“We have analysed the rival very well, and I know most (of their players),” centre-back Sepúlveda told a press conference on Friday.
“On offence it is a very young team, they have [Antonio] Figueroa, [Roberto] de la Rosa.
“It’s a very dynamic team, but we have to talk more about ourselves. We have to propose and play the 90 minutes to the death.
“We are more than motivated. We had not had a great tournament, but we closed very well.
“We are going with good momentum for the Liguilla, the team’s confidence is very good because of what we have shown in the last three to four games. I am sure that on Sunday we are going to win.”
Both Chivas and Pachuca finished on 23 points, but the latter enjoy home advantage for this knock-out tie due to a marginally better goal difference.
