West Ham United have received an injury boost following the return of Gianluca Scamacca to training following a knee problem.
According to the Evening Standard, the former Sassuolo striker was back in action ahead of their London derby against Chelsea this weekend.
Scamacca’s last appearance for the Hammers came off the bench against Wolverhampton Wanderers on January 14.
The 24-year-old has since missed league games against Everton and Newcastle United and the FA Cup tie versus Derby County.
However, it is unclear if Scamacca will be fit to start the Chelsea game. If he is available, his return would be a massive boost for manager David Moyes.
January transfer window signing Danny Ings returned from injury to feature against the Magpies.
Ings picked up a knee injury on his debut for West Ham against Everton following his £12 million move from Aston Villa last month.
Many people thought he’d be out for several matches, but he has returned early.
Michail Antonio remains an ever-reliable option for his club, but the hard-running forward is unsurprisingly slowing down at 32.
West Ham face Chelsea at the London Stadium on Saturday, hoping to keep up the momentum they are building.
They have lifted themselves out of the relegation zone after a recent upturn in form.
West Ham beat Everton, leading to the dismissal of Frank Lampard, before defeating Derby in the cup. They then secured a draw against third-placed Newcastle at St James’ Park.
Moyes will hope his side can turn up against a very susceptible Chelsea team still learning to play with each other under Potter.
The Blues are struggling to score but have looked defensively solid, especially since the arrival of Benoit Badiashile. The clash will be an exciting watch.
