Roma defender Gianluca Mancini spoke about the team’s determination to get the result they wanted all along in last night’s win at Torino.

“This week we were thinking about this game. After all the sacrifices made this year there was a risk of arriving seventh, eighth and we didn’t want to,” he told DAZN.

“We approached this game well, it wasn’t easy because Torino is a strong team, mentally free and we could have created problems for ourselves.”

“We complicated the other games on our own. We got to the last one we just had to win and we did it, it pays off all the work of the season.”

“It’s clear then that we could have done better, but as the coach’s first season we improved last year’s ranking, we are in a European final. The work can be said to be satisfactory.”

On Mourinho’s change of formation, Mancini commented “The change of formation gave that security that we had at first, but up to a certain point.”

“Changing the module a little, we were more compact. We also improved in dribbling, when it comes to counter-attacks we have devastating players up front. The coach congratulated us on the season, it’s clear that some words were said ahead of the final. Now we can think about Wednesday’s game.”
