Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio doesn’t believe that Inter players Stefan de Vrij or Marcelo Brozovic will be targets for Tottenham Hotspur in January.

Speaking to Football Daily, as reported by FCInter1908, Di Marzio explained that it is his understanding that the London-based side are looking for a different profile of player as they reinforce their squad for coach Antonio Conte.

Conte’s appointment as Spurs head coach a few weeks ago prompted some speculation that the former Inter boss could look to bring players in from the Nerazzurri who he had worked with successfully.

Moreover, the Premier League side have Fabio Paratici as their Sporting Director, a former Juventus executive who knows Serie A well and has already brought players in from Italy as part of their project.

Brozovic and de Vrij are among the players who have been linked as possible targets for Spurs, but Di Marzio doesn’t think they’ll move for the pair in January.

“I don’t think these players will leave Milan in January because they want to win the Scudetto with Inter,” he explained of the Nerazzurri duo.

“Brozovic is negotiating the contract renewal and de Vrij is very important for Simone Inzaghi,” he added.

“Moreover,” Di Marzio continued, “Tottenham, Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici are looking for top players, but above all young players with the right characteristics.”

“Tottenham’s philosophy is [centred around youth],” he clarified. “Brozovic and de Vrij would be considered too old for the project.”
