Gianluca Aureliano has been assigned the game between AC Milan and Empoli, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday evening. The referee has been in charge of two Rossoneri games before.

At the age of 42, Aureliano is getting more and more high-profile games in Serie A and his next task is Empoli-Milan, as was confirmed by Lega yesterday. Marco Guida, who is a bit more experienced, will be the man in charge of VAR.

Aureliano has officiated two Milan games before, Milan-Torino in the league and Milan-Genoa in Coppa Italia. The first one ended 1-0 and the latter ended 3-1 after extra time. He handed out five yellow cards to the Rossoneri over these two games.

Milan are expected to make quite a few changes to the starting XI compared to the defeat against Napoli, which you can read more about here. Rafael Leao is back from suspension and will be looking to avoid another red card.
