Since making a €7m move from Atalanta in 2014, Giacomo Bonaventura has called Milan home.
Though Bonaventura has had to endure some of Milan’s toughest years to date, he says wearing the red and black a dream come true.
“Children are an inspiration for all of us, when they play they should have fun and we should imitate them too,” he said.
“Among the senior players there is the obligation to get results and pressure, but when we have fun on the field, everything is more beautiful.
“Getting to a great team was my dream as a child, playing at Milan is like fulfilling my dream, every time I go out in the field I have great emotions.
“Every time I enter San Siro, in such a beautiful stadium, the memories of a child with football in the fields of the province come back to my mind and I feel proud”.
Of all of the amazing moments in Bonaventura’s career, there’s only a couple that really stands out to him.
“There were many, hard to say one, but probably my debut in Serie A.
“I was very tense, then especially the first time in the field with the national team.”
The Milan derby will take place this Sunday.
