Kamal Sowah delivered a goal on his Standard Liege debut as Carl Hoefkens side finally grabbed three points. Sowah scored the third goal of the game as Standard beat Eupen 3-1, with Wilfried Kanga and Hayao Kawabe having scored earlier. Both goals came during stoppage time in the first half, with Kawabe providing the assist for Kanga’s second goal of the season. Just before the opening goal, Steven Alzate picked up his first yellow card. The on loan Brighton midfielder was shown a second yellow after simulation deep into added time at the end of the game.

Eupen did manage to get one goal back when Alfred Finnbogason scored his first for the club, with former Union Berlin midfielder Milos Pantovic grabbing an assist. However, the Pandas were unable to get back into the game as Standard moved into 12th. However, they were dealt a blow when William Balikwisha picked up an injury just 10 minutes after coming on for Kawabe.
