A leading member of the defensive ranks at La Liga outfit Getafe is facing up to an extended incoming spell away from the pitch.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Djené as the player in question.
Stopper Djené was for his part in from the off last night, as Getafe made the trip to Madrid for a La Liga meeting with Rayo Vallecano.
En route to an eventual 1-0 defeat, however, the Togolese was given his marching orders late on.
As per the referee’s report, as much came for:
“Speaking to me in the following terms: ‘terrible’. After being shown the red card, he had to be restrained by several players from both teams, displaying an aggressive attitude.”
And according to MD, Djené is in line for a potentially lengthy suspension as a result.
The 33-year-old is expected to face a minimum three-game ban, for both the actions which led to his sending off (two games) and his previous yellow card accumulation (one game).
It is not out of the question that Djené could be suspended for even longer, though, a heavy blow for a Getafe side desperate to bring to an end a four-game losing streak.
