Getafe are looking to give coach Jose Bordalas resources for next season, and will be without Mason Greenwood next season. The rising starlet they want to bring in to replace him is Arda Guler.
Greenwood, who was voted Getafe’s Player of the Season after 10 goals and 6 assists, will head back to Manchester United this summer. The Red Devils want to sell him for between €40-50m. President Angel Torres has requested Guler on loan from Real Madrid in his annual meeting with Los Blancos, telling them Getafe would build a team aroud him, as per Diario AS.
Guler has plenty of interest from La Liga and beyond. In Spain alone, Real Sociedad, Las Palmas, RCD Mallorca and Sevilla have all shown interest in a loan, while Germany’s RB Leipzig, Italy’s Milan and former club Fenerbahce have all done so too.
The latest on the 19-year-old is that he will be going nowhere this summer. Guler has consistently claimed he wants to remain at the Santiago Bernabeu, while Carlo Ancelotti has been won round by some impressive displays in the final stretch of the season after some initial doubts about what was best for him. The Italian has also stated that he will stay with Los Blancos next season, and it would require a major U-turn for Guler to play in Getafe next season.
