Getafe chief provides major Djené future update | OneFootball

Getafe sporting director Rubén Reyes has provided an altogether significant update on the future of defensive star Djené.

This comes amid confirmation that the Togolese international will be going nowhere this summer.

The subject of Djené’s future has long proven a headline talking point at the Estadio Coliseum.

This comes with the defender, in the midst of another thoroughly impressive individual campaign to date, having been due to see his contract terms expire in the summer.

As much had given rise to rumours surrounding interest in Djené’s signature on the part of a number of clubs across Spain and beyond.

As alluded to above, though, on Monday, the Getafe faithful can breathe a collective sigh of relief.

Drawn on the future of the Azulones’ defensive stalwart during an exchange with DAZN (as cited by Mundo Deportivo), the aforementioned Rubén Reyes confirmed:

“He has a contract that runs until next year, a one-year extension, and the idea is for him to stay at Getafe. At the moment, we have him secured for another year.”
