Following Germany’s thrilling 3-3 draw with Italy on Sunday night, Die Mannschaft have booked their place in the final four of the Nations League in June. While a semi-final against Portugal awaits, Germany have also had their 2026 World Cup qualifying group confirmed.

World Cup Qualifying Group

Germany have been placed into Group A of qualifying where they’ll face Slovakia, Northern Ireland, and Luxembourg both home and away.

It’s a very tame group for Julian Nagelsmann side, who should comfortably qualify from this group without dropping a single point.

Germany kickstart their campaign on September 4th away in Slovakia and will finish on November 17th at home against Slovakia.

Full list of fixtures:

September 4th: Slovakia (A)

September 7th: Northern Ireland (H)

October 10th: Luxembourg (H)

October 13th: Northern Ireland (A)

November 14th: Luxembourg (A)

November 17th: Slovakia (H)

Head-to-Head

Unsurprisingly, Germany have a stellar record against all of the nations in their World Cup qualifying group.

Germany have faced Northern Ireland the most out of all of their group opponents having faced off 19 times. Die Mannschaft are currently on a 9-game winning streak against Northern Ireland, having last dropped points against them during World Cup qualifying in November 1996 where they drew 1-1.

Germany have played Luxembourg 12 times throughout their history and have only lost once back in 1939. Their last two matches against the micro-state date back to 2006 and 1998, both ended in thumping 7-0 victories for Die Mannschaft.

Germany haven’t played Slovakia since Euro 2016 where Die Mannschaft won 3-1. Out of the 11 times Die Mannschaft has played Slovakia, they’ve won 8 and lost 3.

The odds look good for Germany who should qualify for next year’s tournament with ease.
