Defender Yann Bisseck, midfielder Davy Klaassen, and wingback Juan Cuadrado have been the three players on the margins at Inter Milan.

Today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, note that the trio have played fewer than a hundred minutes each so far this season.

At the beginning of the season, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has rotated his squad regularly.

Both in terms of the starting eleven and in terms of substitutions, the coach hasn’t been afraid to make changes.

This has meant that it has been important for Inter to have a deep squad. And it has also entailed that, by and large, everyone has gotten a decent chunk of playing time.

But as the Gazzetta note, there have been a few notable exceptions.

Yann Bisseck, Davy Klaassen & Juan Cuadrado Find Playing Time Hard To Come By

First there is defender Yann Bisseck.

The 22-year-old Germany youth international joint Inter from Danish side Aarhuus during the summer.

It was always very clear that Inter were signing Bisseck as more of a prospect for the future rather than a player for the present.

But the fact that the Nerazzurri didn’t send the German out on loan suggested that they saw enough in his performances for Aarhus and the Germany Under-21 side to put their trust in him right away, at least as a depth option.

And the fact that Bisseck actually got on the pitch in Inter’s Serie A opener against Monza seemed a good sign.

But after that seven-minute cameo, the German has not seen the pitch.

Meanwhile, it has been 59 minutes in total for former Ajax and Everton midfielder Davy Klaassen.

The 30-year-old has made one start, and has gotten a bit of time off the bench.

But by and large, the depth in Inter’s midfield, possibly the team’s strongest position, has been an impediment to Klaassen playing more.

And finally, the Gazzetta notes, former Juventus, Chelsea, and Fiorentina veteran Juan Cuadrado has also been a bit-part player.

But in the case of the 35-year-old, there has been a particular reason.

Cuadrado has dealt with injury and fitness problems for much of the season so far.

Therefore, Cuadrado could alternate more with Denzel Dumfries in Inter’s coming matches.
