On the friendlies, national team boss Hansi Flick said: “The games against Peru and Belgium start our preparation for the European Championships at home. We are looking forward to this tournament and want to develop a team that will be attractive and successful, playing with passion, enthusiasm and pride. It’s important for us to try a few things, and we will make brave and surprising decisions. We are very much looking forward to the games – everyone is eager to finally get going again.”

This is the beginning of Germany’s preparations for the European Championship. Their next competitive game will be on the 14th June when they open the Euros in Munich.

It is reported that later on in the year, Germany will travel to North America to play friendly games there as well.

Germany last played against Costa Rica in the World Cup and won 4-2, but it was not enough to save them from elimination at the group stage for the second time in a row. They are now in the midst of rebuilding the German national team.
