Defender Yann Bisseck looked out of sorts positionally in yesterday’s Serie A match between Parma and Inter Milan.
This is the view in today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Yann Bisseck started in defense for Inter Milan yesterday. He got the nod ahead of Benjamin Pavard on the right side of the Nerazzurri’s back three against Parma.
However, it was in many ways not a match that suited Bisseck’s style of play.
The German is generally a defender who looks at his best when he has a clear point of reference. He can then use his physicality and anticipation to directly mark a striker.

Parma did not really give Yann Bisseck such a reference point.
The Gialloblu looked to really use their pace in the wide areas, and hit Inter on the break.
That regularly gave Bisseck a lot of space to defend.
And this looked to be very challenging for the 24-year-old.
In the first half, Inter allowed a couple dangerous counterattacks, and Bisseck was culpable in granting space, not committing, and being caught in two minds.
Then, in the second half, Bisseck got completely lost on Parma’s second goal, where he was nowhere near position to stop Jacob Ondrejka’s shot.
