The German Football Federation have announced that they will keep faith with national team boss Joachim Löw.
The 60-year-old’s position had been under threat after a string of recent poor performances, culminating in a humiliating 6-0 loss against Spain.
Following a series of virtual meetings, it has now confirmed by the DFB that Löw will remain in charge for the European Championship.
Löw then met with board members in Frankfurt on Monday to discuss the situation in person, which was an ‘open, constructive and intense exchange’.
“The members of the Executive Committee have agreed that what counts is the high quality work of the staff and relationship between team and coach,” read a DFB statement.
“A single game cannot and must not be a yardstick for the general performance of the national team and coach.
“Joachim Löw continues to have the trust of the FGB.”
Löw has been in charge since 2006 and led his country to World Cup glory in 2014.
