Germany beat Belgium 2-0 in the ‘Three Nations, One Goal’ Cup in Aachen, ahead of facing the Netherlands in a midweek decider.

Belgium had gone down 6-2 to the Netherlands in the opening game of the tournament and were behind again, as Svenja Huth took only 88 seconds to find the net when assisted by Klara Buhl.

Julie Biesmans thought she had equalised before the break but her goal was disallowed for offside.

Huth was involved again in Germany’s second goal ten minutes after the interval, playing the ball to Lea Schüller who fired high over keeper Justien Odeurs and into the back of the net.

The mini-tournament, which features the three potential co-host nations for the 2027 Women’s World Cup, will be decided on Wednesday (5.30 UK time), when Germany take on the Netherlands.

Sunday’s other friendly results:

Dominican Republic 0-2 Puerto Rico Ecuador 3-0 Bolivia Montenegro 5-0 North Macedonia
