Inter Miami boss Gerardo 'Tata' Martino gave an update on Lionel Messi's status after he picked up a knock in training ahead of his team's Leagues Cup semi-final clash with Philadelphia Union.

There's nothing to worry about, Inter Miami fans. Messi is alright and will be good to go for the semi-final matchup with the Union - according to Martino.

"I was only at a part of the session because I had a meeting afterwards and was finishing preparing, so I didn't see exactly what happened. But if it was something serious, I'm sure everyone would have been shocked," Martino said in a press conference.

But Martino simply stated that since none of his staff or players were alarmed at the situation, then there was nothing to worry about.

"Since everyone was fine, I imagine nothing happened," he added.

It would a huge loss for the Herons, as not only would they be without the best player in the world and the one that has brought the south Florida club back to life and currently challenging for trophies, but they'd be without the most creative player in their team - against the Union.

Philadelphia are known to be a tough side to come up against, and their head coach Jim Curtin likes them to soak up pressure and then strike on the counter to catch teams off guard. Trying to break down a team like that without Messi - on the road in a hostile environment - would make things extremely difficult.

However, all is well and Messi will lead the line again for Miami as they look to progress to the final of the 2023 Leagues Cup in hopes of lifting their first ever trophy.
