Defeats in their openings may not lead in changes in this Group F clash

Georgia and Czech Republic will both be tempted to stick rather than twist as they prepare for a crucial Euro 2024 clash.

Both teams sit pointless in Group F, with another defeat likely all but sealing an early tournament exit for either side, but neither will be disheartened by their displays.

While the Czechs dug in and defended superbly against against Portugal after going ahead, only to lose to a stoppage-time goal, while Georgia showed a never-say die attitude on their tournament debut in defeat to Turkey, and were denied an equaliser by the width of a post in injury time.

Georgia are bottom on goal difference, and will need goalscorer Georges Mikautadze to remain on song for the game. Nika Kvekveskiri misses the third game if booked.

Czech coach Ivan Hasek deployed a line of five players, and occasionally six, across the back against Cristiano Ronaldo & Co., but will need to be more adventurous against minnows Georgia.

This would allow Patrik Schick - joint top scorer at the last Euros - to operate more freely. The striker, though, is also one booking away from a ban.

Predicted Georgia XI: Mamardashvili; Lochoshvili, Dvali, Kashia, Kverkvelia, Kakabadze; Kochorashvili, Kvekveskiri, Chakvetadze; Kvaratskhelia, Mikautadze

Predicted Czech Republic XI: Stanek; Holes, Hranac, Krejci; Coufal, Barak, Soucek, Provod, Doudera; Chytil, Schick

Misses next match if booked: Schick
