Andrea Ranocchia is expected to stay at Inter until at least January, according to Wednesday’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

The 32-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Genoa and seemed close to leaving after the Rossoblu’s owner Enrico Preziosi came to Milan for talks with Inter last week.

Preziosi was convinced he had a deal in the bag, but Ranocchia is hesitating because he loves playing for Inter and would like at least another season playing at San Siro.

The Italian centre-back wants to help the club return to its former glories and is therefore likely to stay put for at least the next four months.

Ranocchia joined Inter in the summer of 2011 and has made 207 appearances in all competitions, scoring 13 goals and providing four assists.

He left briefly during the 2016-17 season when he joined Hull City for a six-month loan, where he played 16 times and scored twice.
