KRC Genk centre-back Mark McKenzie (25) is on the verge of signing for Ligue 1 side Toulouse FC, according to a report from L’Equipe. The 12-time USMNT international will put pen to paper over a three-year deal with Les Violets. Toulouse’s outlay for McKenzie reportedly rises to €3m. The move includes a 10 % sell-on clause. Toulouse were in the market for a centre-back following the exit of Moussa Diarra (23) as a free agent and Christan Mawissa’s (19) €16m sale to AS Monaco.
McKenzie was entering his final contract year with the Jupiler Pro League side. The American centre-back may form an all-English-speaking partnership at the back with Toulouse teammate Charlie Cresswell (21). The outlet understands that McKenzie’s arrival may facilitate Logan Costa’s (23) departure. Toulouse are hoping for a €15m windfall from his sale with Bologna in advanced talks to secure the services of the Cape Verde international.
