Genk are set to announce the signing of two new attacking players in the coming hours. Pictures have been leaked showing that Brighton forward Andi Zeqiri is in Belgium having his medical with Gent. Another shows that 21-year-old Zakaria El Ouahdi is also joining from newly promoted RWDM. El Ouahdi has been monitored by a number of sides within Belgium and throughout Europe, but Genk have been the ones to secure his signature.

The side have also been working on bringing Paul Onuachu back to the club, but the arrival of Zeqiri is a result of the break down in the deal with Southampton. The 24-year-old striker joins from Brighton, who he signed for from Lausanne-Sport back in 2021 for around €4m. The Swiss forward has played for FC Augsburg and FC Basel on loan over the past few seasons. Last season he scored 18 goals in 50 games for the latter. In 13 appearances for Brighton, Zeqiri scored once.

El Ouahdi joined RWDM for free from Rupel Boom in 2021 and has gone on to score eight goals and provide six assists in 56 games. The Moroccan youth international also won the U23 AFCON recently.
