HLN are reporting that Genk are happy with an offer from Burnley for last seasons Belgian Pro League player of the season Mike Trésor. Burnley are looking to loan the winger with an mandatory purchase option. Genk have now put the ball in the wingers court, who will discuss the details of the contract with the Premier League side. Trésor has been linked with the likes of Fulham, Crystal Palace and Reims this summer, but none of the proposals from those sides have resulted in a permanent transfer.

The 24-year-old winger set the record for assists in a single season during the 2022/2023 season with 24, while also grabbing eight goals. So far this season he has only made two Pro League appearances due to injury. Without him, Genk have struggled. While they have only conceded one goal domestically, they have also not shown the attacking prowess that impressed last campaign. In four matches, they only have five goals, with two wins a draw and a loss. In Europe Genk have really struggled, losing out to both Servette and Olympiacos in Champions League and Europa League qualification respectively.
