A member of the attacking ranks in the England national team squad has on Friday moved to reveal his appreciation for the talents boasted by Barcelona and Spain sensation Lamine Yamal.

As much, of course, comes as England prepare to lock horns with Lamine and La Roja this weekend.

After battling their way past the Netherlands and France in their respective semi-final ties, the Three Lions and Spain will face off for the title of European champions in Berlin on Sunday night.

A whole host of world football’s standout players are in line to play their part, from Rodri to Jude Bellingham and more.

And yet, in the buildup to the clash, one name has positioned itself above all others when it comes to his potential impact on proceedings at the Olympiastadion.

The player in question? Lamine Yamal.

Wide-man Lamine is of course fresh off nothing short of a staggering performance, en route to Spain getting the better of France on Tuesday.

Still just 16, the Barcelona starlet conjured up a Goal of the Tournament contender, on his way to eventual Man of the Match honours against the star-studded Bleus.

Speaking to the media (as cited by Diario Sport) on Friday, it therefore came as little surprise when Lamine’s name was put to England’s midweek match-winner, in Ollie Watkins.

During a pre-match press conference, Aston Villa hitman Watkins was not shy in heaping praise on the youngster, explaining:

“He’s an unbelievable talent, a generational talent. It’s not often you’re scoring goals against France in the top corner in the semi-final of the European Championship when you’re 16.”

Watkins concluded:

“Lamine Yamal has the world at his feet and yes, he is miles ahead of me when I was 16 or 17.”
