AC Milan are still viewing Paulo Fonseca as a potential replacement for Stefano Pioli this summer despite their being many other names in circulation.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Pianeta Milan), there are a handful of factors that make Fonseca attractive to Milan, despite perhaps not being the most high-profile name in the mix.

The attractive way in which his teams often play is a major selling point as Milan fans have voiced anger at some of the underwhelming displays that Pioli has created.

Whilst attacking football would almost certainly come with Fonseca at the helm, he has also drastically reduced the number of goals that Lille are conceding this season with him in charge.

The French side are still fighting to overtake Stade Brest and reach third place in Ligue 1 which would mean direct qualification for the Champions League.

Milan think he could bring the right blend of attacking flair and defensive solidity based on his current Lille side, but they are not the only team trying to sign him.

Naturally, Lille want to offer him a new contract, whilst Marseille have also made a proposal which would see him exert a huge amount of control over the club.
