AC Milan head coach Paulo Fonseca has given the squad three days of the rest over the festive period, but he added an important message too.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via PianetaMilan), the Milan team will not train today, tomorrow and the day after, meaning they get the day before Christmas Eve, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day off to spend with their families.
Part of it is a reward for the win against Hellas Verona, but above all it is a way to not add too much stress on a mental level for a group that have some big games to come. Roma will arrive at San Siro on December 29, then it will be the Supercoppa Italiana in Saudi Arabia.
The gates of Milanello will not remain closed to everyone over the coming days. The players who are working to return from their respective injuries will show up both today and tomorrow to undergo therapies or individual sessions on the pitch or in the gym.
For the others, Fonseca told them not to go 72 hours without moving and, above all, to pay attention to both the Christmas Eve dinner and the Christmas lunch. It is easy to imagine that everyone will show up on December 26 to resume training after having completed at least one individual session.
