GdS: ‘Super Pavlovic’ is Milan’s ‘miracle man’ with one flaw – a question of characteristics

Without Strahinja Pavlovic, AC Milan could have had a very different night on Tuesday, but he is still flawed. The solution must be found quickly because the Serbian could become crucial.

In a season where Pavlovic has been criticised more than he has been supported, it seems strange to see him named as a miracle man, but Gazzetta dello Sport have deemed his performance on Tuesday deserving of that title.

As Slovan Bratislava countered and Strelec rounded and beat Mike Maignan, an open goal awaited him, and it would have accepted his gift were it not for Pavlovic. The Serb charged back and his outstretched leg stopped the hosts from taking the lead early on.

From that, Milan gained a second lease of life and scored their first of the evening shortly after. Had it not been for ‘Super Pavlovic’, things could and probably would have gone much differently in Slovakia.

Unfortunately, though, he is still flawed, and his position in the team cannot be solidified without a solution being found.

The report from Gazzetta continues, stating that he must not play next to Tomori – an argument supported by the scoreline – instead, partnering with Thiaw or Gabbia is the logical solution, and for a player who has saved the Diavolo twice already this season, perhaps the solution must be acted upon.
