The pressure is building for AC Milan. Several decisions need to be made, and the importance of them cannot be understated, especially the one considering their next striker.

Olivier Giroud’s future has been undecided for large parts of the season, leaving Milan to start planning for the future, and with his decision confirmed, the plans must be finalised soon, ensuring that the Rossoneri are not left red-faced by missing out on their preferred candidate.

Gazzetta dello Sport writes that the Diavolo are open to breaking their transfer record fee on a new no. 9, but the candidates are still being considered. Joshua Zirkzee has been a long-standing favourite, but his value is increasing at a substantial rate, and the Rossoneri are no longer the front runners.

Therefore, other options may be explored, such as Benjamin Sesko, who has also been a strong name for the club – his value is not as high as the Dutchman’s. The Slovenian striker fills the criteria that Geoffrey Moncada and co. are looking for, but his price is still high.

Then, there is the wildcard, Serhou Guirassy. The Guinean forward has had an outstanding season in the Bundesliga, and several clubs have followed his progress. Given he is available for a third of what it would cost for Zirkzee, he is being considered heavily.

Jonathan David is another option being pursued, given his contractual situation, as is Santiago Gimenez – whose agent had a meeting with Milan last week. Viktor Gyokeres’ name also remains, but given he is set to cost nine figures, it may be a fading dream.
