AC Milan are preparing for the big encounter with Juventus and per the latest reports, Paulo Fonseca will be able to field a strong starting XI. However, there are a few doubts and battles involved in the selection.
Milan need to bounce back with a strong win after the 3-3 draw against Cagliari before the break, hoping to catch the last Scudetto train. Christian Pulisic is a doubt as he isn’t 100% but according to Gazzetta dello Sport (see photo below), he should still start.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek is also ahead of Samuel Chukwueze, set to start in the No.10 role, though it’s likely that it will be more like a three-man midfield with the Englishman. At the back, Matteo Gabbia is back and Malick Thiaw has seemingly won the battle with Fikayo Tomori.
As for Juventus, they will be without Dusan Vlahovic for this one and as a result, Thiago Motta looks set to experiment with a 4-2-4 formation. Weston McKennie and Teun Koopmeiners are expected to be the ones fielded ‘up front’, which will be very interesting to see indeed.
Predicted Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Emerson, Thiaw, Gabbia, Theo Hernandez; Fofana, Reijnders; Pulisic, Loftus-Cheek, Leao; Morata.
Predicted Juventus XI (4-2-4): Di Gregorio; Savona, Gatti, Kalulu, Cambiaso; Locatelli, Thuram; Conceicao, Koopmeiners, McKennie, Yildiz.
