Zlatan Ibrahimovic has a great desire to return to the field and aims to shorten his recovery time, but the medical staff are taking no risks.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), the striker had a check-up on Monday which showed his recovery is going well, and if it were up to him he would be back for Sunday’s away match at Sampdoria.

However, the management absolutely do not want to take any risks and therefore the Swede will return to Pioli only when he is 100% fit. The 39-year-old has often cut short the expected recovery time, but only the definitive test on Friday will reveal if he is available for Sunday’s trip to face Sampdoria.

Currently the most probable hypothesis is a return against Parma the following weekend or perhaps he could feature next Thursday in the Europa League against Sparta Praha.

Ibrahimovic is continuing his work at Milanello in the meantime and hopes to be able to return to training with the group soon.
