A bid for Ismael Bennacer arrived in AC Milan’s inbox from outside Europe, a report claims, but it is not deemed adequate for the midfielder to pack his bags.
According to what is being reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan are still hoping that they can secure the two or three exits needed to win the race for Manu Kone of Borussia Monchengladbach, with Yacine Adli and Tommaso Pobega strong candidates to depart.
However, it is Bennacer who seems to be drumming up the most interest, at least overseas. The Saudi Pro League club Al-Qadsiah explored the possibility of bringing him to the Middle East and they even put forward an offer.
The bid for the former Empoli man came in at under €20m though, which was not enough for the green light to arrive from the Rossoneri directors. Nonetheless, the Algerian’s departure is still considered possible, if the offer were to rise.
Bennacer started the first game of the season on Saturday against Torino and formed a double pivot with Ruben Loftus-Cheek, but the general consensus is that they both struggled on the night.
Massimo Ambrosini even revealed his belief that the 26-year-old hasn’t been the same since his serious injury, and that he should not be a starter in the current side.
