Monday’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) has provided player ratings for the Milan team after Sunday’s 1-0 win over Hellas Verona.
The Rossoneri edged an ill-tempered encounter at the Stadio MarcAntonio Bentegodi in which two players saw red cards, the first coming when Mariusz Stepinski saw red inside the opening 45 minutes for a nasty tackle on Mateo Musacchio.
A second-half penalty for a handball on a Hakan Calhanoglu strike gave Krzysztof Piatek the chance to step up and score the winner, which he did, and he later saw a goal ruled out for VAR.
Davide Calabria also saw red for a high challenge in the final few moments of the game for an adjudged clothesline on Matteo Pessina, but Milan held out to move sixth and level on points with fourth-placed Torino ahead of next week’s derby.
