AC Milan had to battle back from two different two-goal deficits against Sassuolo but they did so to earn a point, and the rollercoaster nature of the game is reflected in La Gazzetta dello Sport’s ratings.

This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta (seen below) has their ratings from the match, starting with the team’s overall performance and Stefano Pioli’s management of the game which both earned a score of 5.5 out of 10.

The best player on the pitch for Milan was Samuel Chukwueze who got a 6.5 and was unlucky not to get two goals, while Simon Kjaer struggled to keep up with Armand Lauriente and Andrea Pinamonti so he got a 4.5.

Four other players got the same score as Samuel Chukwueze: Rafael Leao who scored the goal to make it 2-1, Luka Jovic who netted to make it 3-2, Noah Okafor who grabbed the equaliser late on and Tijjani Reijnders who injected some dynamism off the bench.

Marco Sportiello received a 6 given there was little he could do about the two goals that went in, while Theo Hernandez got the same score.

Alessandro Florenzi (5.5) struggled to contain Lauriente down Sassuolo’s left side, while Yacine Adli and Yunus Musah (5) both allowed way too much space in transition.

Olivier Giroud (5) missed a big chance after coming on, and Malick Thiaw (4.5) had a defensive disaster just as his centre-back partner Kjaer did.
