AC Milan clinched a very important 3-1 win over Empoli yesterday, ahead of what will be three tough games against Chelsea (X2) and Juventus. A few players stood out in the win, as a report highlights.

It was a tough game for the Rossoneri, who had to fight until the very end to clinch the win after conceding a 92nd-minute equaliser. Fode Ballo-Toure was the big hero with the 2-1 goal and Rafael Leao then added to the party.

Gazzetta Dello Sport took stock of the player performances and there were a few standouts. Leao was the MOTM with a rating of 8/10, followed by Ballo-Toure, Sandro Tonali and Ante Rebic at 7.

Rade Krunic and Fikayo Tomori did a little more than just okay and thus got a 6.5 from the newspaper. The Bosnian, for example, got the crucial assist for the second goal, while Tomori really grew into the game at the back.

Ciprian Tatarusanu, Davide Calabria, Simon Kjaer, Alexis Saelemaekers, Charles De Ketelaere, Pierre Kalulu, Brahim Diaz and Sergino Dest passed the test at 6. Olivier Giroud, meanwhile, was the flop at 5.5 and Ismael Bennacer got the same rating for committing the foul on Empoli’s goal.
