There is the risk of more potential divisions emerging at Milan over the Super League fiasco, according to a report.

The world of football was rocked on Sunday night when 12 of Europe’s top clubs announced the creation of a new ‘Super League’ which would be governed by the teams and would replace their participation in the Champions League.

However, two days after the official announcement it seems that the project has failed. Manchester City were the first to say goodbye, then all the other English clubs followed, as well as Inter and Atletico Madrid.

Speaking before last night’s game, Maldini made the shock revelation that he had no idea about the Super League’s launch until he saw it on Sunday night, effectively confirming it had been agreed without his involvement.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) writes, the Super League is a ‘new clash’ between Gazidis and the current Rossoneri technical director. The South African manager’s attempts at revolution have always ended in defeat: first with Ralf Rangnick, then the Super League, and in both cases he went against Maldini.

It seems that words were exchanged yesterday afternoon between the two but from Milan, on the other hand, they reaffirm a solid communion of intent, a version also confirmed by Pioli.
