Mike Maignan is getting closer and closer to a return, currently working on an individual program at Milanello. Milan are hoping that he can take part in a few of the upcoming friendlies and his return, of course, is crucial.
The Frenchman has been struggling with calf injuries this season and Milan have missed his distribution from the back. A return is now near, though, as positive news has filtered from the training ground.
As highlighted by today’s edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport (via SempreMilan.it), Maignan’s return is undeniably crucial for Milan in their Scudetto pursuit. Ciprian Tatarusanu has been decent, but the difference in quality between the two is clear.
Milan are currently eight points behind Napoli and need a very strong second half of the season to reach the Partenopei. They will embark on that mission with Maignan between the sticks, by the looks of it. And that could be just what they need to succeed.
