Another option has emerged as AC Milan continue to hunt for a defensive reinforcement ahead of the January window, a report claims.

Il Corriere della Sera are reporting that Simon Kjaer will have to undergo arthroscopic surgery on his left knee to repair damage to his cruciate ligament and his collateral ligament, whichmeans that the 32-year-old is looking at six months out and his season could well be over.

According to the latest from La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), Luiz Felipe has emerged as an option for Milan in their pursuit of a new central defender. The Lazio star has a contract expiring in 2022, but it will not be easy to convince the Biancocelesti to let him leave six months early without offering a good financial compensation.

Felipe has been a crucial fixture of Lazio’s starting XI for the past couple of seasons having made 12 league and four Europa League appearances for the capital club this season. Transfermarkt has his valuation at around the €20m mark.
