GdS: Jovic remains in Belgrade to work with specialist in agreement with Milan

Luka Jovic’s torrid season is seemingly continuing as he has not travelled to Switzerland with his Serbian teammates, and AC Milan have agreed to the decision.

Milan extended Jovic’s contract in the summer, but since making the decision, it has seemed increasingly like a mistake. Saying the Serbian has struggled for minutes would be kind, and with only 78 minutes of Serie A action so far, questions need to be asked about the decision to renew his deal.

The Rossoneri knew they had made a mistake in the summer, and there were attempts made to part with the striker towards the end of the window, but none brought any fruits, so a January exit is hoped for, and there is already interest.

However, there could be a setback. Whilst he travelled for international duty, the Serbian has been assessed and it was found that he has a hernia, as Gazzetta.it (via Milan News) report. As a result of this, he is no longer an option for the head coach, so he has remained in Belgrade for work with a specialist.

The issue is not serious enough to keep him out of training, but he is being watched by a specialist, which the Diavolo agreed to, and he should return to Milanello shortly. A place within the squad for the game against Juventus ‘seems impossible’, though.
