For AC Milan, decisions can not be left until the last minute, and this means that early verdicts are out for many players, including Theo Hernandez.
It has been a season of wrongs that almost definitely cannot become a right, and this has harmed the credentials of many Milan players, both long and short serving. Summer planning has been going on for a while already, but now it also involves the outgoings, and plans have been blueprinted.
As Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) writes, it is no longer a case of waiting until May, and changing the path of some will take a lot.
For example, the case of Theo is pretty much done. His latest performance shows the level which he is now at, and after the attempts to part in January, his fate is all but sealed. In fact, a change in the picture is ‘difficult if not impossible’, in other words, it is time to start moving on, and the Frenchman will probably leave this summer, or next as a free agent.
As well as Hernandez, his partner on the left is being scrutinised. Another ‘sacrifice’ could occur, and this would mean Rafael Leao could also be elsewhere next season. Whilst the door is seemingly not open currently, in a few months it ‘could’ be.
Elsewhere, Fikayo Tomori, Emerson Royal, Samuel Chukwueze and Ruben Loftus-Cheek may all have to seek new permanent homes – for Jovic, it is not a case of may, he will leave.
Alex Jimenez could also leave depending on negotiations with Real Madrid, whilst Alexis Saelemaekers could be used in the negotiations for Tammy Abraham, but these two situations are less clear.
