AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli has some selection dilemmas to resolve ahead of Saturday’s Serie A opener against Udinese, a report claims.

According to today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), a decision will be taken between today and especially tomorrow – the day before the match – on whether or not to field Olivier Giroud from the first minute against Udinese.

This morning Milan will carry out a training session at San Siro and it cannot be excluded that the Frenchman could do another individual training session, as he has done in the last few days due to suffering with muscle fatigue.

However, the feeling is that Giroud should rejoin the rest of the squad tomorrow for the final training session then he will be called up by Pioli for Udinese.

If Pioli decides not to risk him, then it would be up to Ante Rebic to lead the line, with the Croatian having appeared in excellent condition in the summer friendlies.

Divock Origi – who has been training in a group for two days – will also be called up and will start on the bench, ready to come on and play a segment of the game.
