AC Milan head coach Paulo Fonseca will reshuffle his team again for tonight’s game against Hellas Verona amid an injury crisis in attack.
As La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) writes this morning, Milan will show up at the Bentegodi tonight with eight injured players: Alessandro Florenzi, Ismael Bennacer, Luke Jovic, Christian Pulisic, Yunus Musah, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Noah Okafor and Alvaro Morata.
The Spaniard is the latest to unfortunately join this list and will miss the trip to Verona due to tonsillitis. With all these absences, the line-up choices are almost obligatory, but once again Fonseca finds a way to surprise everyone.
The Portuguese coach will keep Alex Jimenez at left-back in place of Theo Hernandez, who will therefore start from the bench again as happened against Genoa last Sunday. The most surprising news is undoubtedly an inclusion in the starting XI for Filippo Terracciano.
As per the paper, the former Verona man will in fact form a pairing in midfield with Youssouf Fofana, while Tijjani Reijnders will be moved up and play as an attacking midfielder given the absence of others in that role.
It means that Mattia Liberali will start on the bench, like his Milan Futuro team-mate Francesco Camarda. Lorenzo Torriani and the midfielder Kevin Zeroli should also help fill the bench.
Jimenez was among the best performers in a poor game against Genoa so keeping his spot is perhaps warranted, though it does go against the suggestions from Sky that Theo was set to start after responding well to his benching.
