GdS: ‘Enemy number one’ – Milan hoping to end woeful Salah unbeaten streak

In previous encounters, AC Milan have been unable to beat Mo Salah – a record which they will hope to end tonight at San Siro in the Rossoneri’s first Champions League game of the 2024/25 season.

There have been few players as consistent as Salah in recent years, and even at 32 years old his output is frightening for any opposition. However, the Egyptian winger has been a terrifying opposition since before his Liverpool days.

As Gazzetta dello Sport (via Milan News) recalls, the winger has not lost against Milan – he has won four times drawing the other time he faced the Rossoneri. It is not only wins, though, Salah has also scored three times against the Diavolo, once in a Roma shirt, and the other two came in the opening stage of the Champions League in the 2021/22 season.

This is a record that he will be keen to continue, and he will be looking to add another goal to his tally in the opening stages against the Rossoneri this evening, especially against an out-of-form Theo Hernandez – making it one of the key battles for the fixture.

Because of his previous successes, Gazzetta have named the winger as ‘enemy number one’, perhaps a slight exaggeration, but if there is no effective plan to stop him, he will only extend his fantastic record.
