After what has been a season without fans at the stadium, many were delighted to see that the government seemed ready to open up the stadiums again. However, the plans have taken another turn, a report claims.

Four days ago, ANSA (read here) reported that the government had more or less decided to allow fans in stadiums from May 1st. The limitations outlined were a maximum of 1000 spectators, provided that the region of the club is categorised as a yellow zone.

However, this won’t be the case as was reported by Gazzetta Dello Sport this evening (via MilanNews). The Technical Scientific Committee have decided that the aforementioned solution won’t be possible as of now, postponing it to June 1st.

In other words, the Serie A clubs will have to be without their fans for the entire season and it remains to be seen if they can be there for the 2021/22 opener.
