Valencia CF captain, José Luis Gayà, analysed the defeat against UD Las Palmas on LaLiga Matchday 24.
The team put in a lot of effort throughout the game. We followed the plan we had, which was to be organised and stick together, without them putting balls inside, and trying to catch them on the counter. We had chances in the second half to take the lead and, in the end, if you don't do that away from home, then you can concede from a set piece and the game is over. Conceding from the set piece hurts a lot due to all the work done on that."
“We were in a fairly positive dynamic and today that good streak we had was broken, but it was not due to a lack of dedication or effort, but rather due to a lack of concentration on that move. It was a shame because to be running like we did after the ball, trying to get through... to be scored against from a set piece hurts a lot. Now we have a week to prepare for the match against Sevilla FC at home, which for us is fundamental."
