Gavi has been assured by Barcelona he will soon receive a pay-rise.

Marca says Barcelona have already signed Pedri and Ansu Fati up on longer-term deals and Gavi is the next in line. His current contract is still a youth contract and includes a release clause of just 50 million euros. As a Spain international at just 17 years of age with 24 games under his belt as a professional, that sum will rise considerably.

Gavi is currently paid €100,000 on a contract that runs until 2023, which is why the club have been somewhat relaxed so far about his extension. They understand that he is deserving of a better deal now and the player will have his dream of signing a long-term deal come true.

It's expected that he will pen a contract that will run until at least 2026 and it's not out of the question that he has a release clause of one billion euros put in place, much like Pedri and Ansu Fati's deals.

Barcelona have made January transfers their priority in recent weeks, parking discussions with Gavi and his representatives as a result. But, the talks will pick up again soon and things will be finalised.

The club also want to discuss renewals with Sergi Roberto, Ronald Araujo and Nico.
