Manchester United are reportedly interested in FC Barcelona midfielder Gavi.
According to 90 min, The Red Devils have held meetings to be kept aware of the midfielder’s situation.
Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich are also keen on signing the Spaniard.
The report, however, claims that Gavi prefers to stay at Barcelona.
The Catalan club are confident of keeping their starlet, who is seen as the future star.
Xavi views the 18 year old as one of his centre-pieces around whom he can build his team.
“Gavi had agreed to sign a new deal earlier this year, with interested clubs told that he would be staying at the Catalan giants and was not looking to move.”
“Barça’s plan was for the teenager to sign his new long-term contract when he turned 18 on August 5.”
“However, that was not possible due to the club’s financial issues, which saw them struggle to register new signings.”
“Now that the transfer window has closed, Barcelona are now looking to finalise the extension of Gavi with his current deal due to expire next year.”
Gavi has world-class ability and is already one of the best midfielders in the world.
It is scary how good this player can become if developed well.
At United, he would fit perfectly in Erik ten Hag’s system.
While it does seem a tough deal to pull off, one cannot discount United from pulling off something sensational.
