Premier League high-flyers Nottingham Forest reportedly presented Juventus centre-back Federico Gatti with a lucrative contract offer during the January transfer window, but the Italy international turned down the opportunity of a move to the Premier League to focus on a contract renewal with the Bianconeri.
According to Saturday’s reports, Forest were keen to add Gatti to their defensive ranks over the January transfer window.
Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli and Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis were both in attendance for the Golden Boy Awards ceremony in Turin in December, which is where the discussions over the Bianconeri centre-back began, according to reports from Tuttosport, who put on the event.
Saturday’s reports claim that Gatti was offered a significantly larger sum than the one he currently earns with Juventus to join Forest, but decided to turn the proposal down.
It is understood that the 26-year-old intends to stay on with Juventus for as long as possible.

Saturday’s reports also claim that he is close to putting pen to paper on a new contract extension with the Old Lady.
According to updates from Calciomercato.com, Gatti has already given his approval to a contract worth a reported €2.5m per season until the summer of 2030 with Juventus, which is still less than what Forest had supposedly offered.
