When asked about his thoughts on Wolves’ performance he said: “The only thing I’m disappointed with is the result, more shots, more chances better XG, that performance I can sign up for.”

“We didn’t come here to lose but the numbers we created will win us games in the future.”

“I thought we were the best team by a long way in the first 30 minutes.”

O’Neil was questioned about Ait-Nouri’s chance in the first half.

He said: “He had a lot of the goal to aim at, you would back him to score.

“Sometimes it doesn’t go your way.”

“Rayan looked tired; he’s just played two 90s with Algeria”

O’Neil was also asked about his thoughts on Leon Chiwome’s performance, who had his first Premier League start.

“I was really proud of what he gave, him and his performance. He’s only trained three or four times with us”

“I hope he enjoyed bits of it, it is his Premier League debut.”
