Pundit Gary Lineker took to Twitter to react to Liverpool’s 0-0 draw against Manchester United.

Despite the fact that the Premier League match finished in a goalless draw, Lineker stated that it was a “thoroughly enjoyable game”.

Lineker added that we have a “fascinating title race” this season.

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

We found Lineker’s tweet to be a bit strange. Having watched the match, we thought it was a very average game of football. There was nothing enjoyable about it.

The fact that neither side scored highlights that there was a real lack of quality going forward.

Manchester United sat deep and looked to hurt Liverpool on the counter-attack. Liverpool finished the match with 66 percent of possession as a result.

However, Liverpool only managed to get three shots away on target. Manchester United only managed to get four shots away on target.

Manchester United never looked to take the game to Liverpool, which can be backed up by the possession statistics.

With that being the case, Manchester United always had 11 players behind the ball, which made it difficult for Liverpool to create goal-scoring opportunities.

As a result, Manchester United did not create much, either. With that being the case, it was a boring game at Anfield.
